Dry orgasm

Have you ever had an orgasm, but failed to ejaculate? If your answer is “yes,” that means you’ve had a dry orgasm. A dry orgasm, also known as orgasmic an ejaculation, happens when you climax during sex or masturbation but don’t release any sperm.
Dry orgasm is one form of anejaculation, a condition where you’re unable to ejaculate even though your penis is being stimulated. Another type is anorgasmic anejaculation, which occurs when you can’t reach orgasm or ejaculate while you’re awake.
Depending on the cause, dry orgasms can simply be a temporary occurrence or last permanently. Dry orgasms aren’t necessarily a serious health issue and may only impact you if you’re trying to have children. Read on to learn more about why they happen and what this may mean for you.
Some men can have an orgasm without ejaculating at all.
This can happen after surgery to the bladder or prostate, or it can happen after radiotherapy to the pelvis. In these cases, something has physically altered the usual flow of semen through the urethra and out the penis.
It can also happen with:
  1. Nerve damage after diabetesmultiple sclerosis (MS) or a spinal cord injury
  2. The use of some medicines to treat high blood pressure, an enlarged prostate or mental health disorders
  3. Surgery or radiotherapy to treat prostate cancer
  4. Congenital conditions where no sperm is made.
  5. a blocked sperm duct
  6. Retrograde ejaculation (when semen travels backwards into the bladder instead of out of the penis through the urethral).
It is best to see your doctor about dry orgasms. You doctor will talk to you, examine you and may ask you to have some tests.
Dry orgasms are not really a problem unless you want to have a child. If this is the case, then you would want to have treatment to correct it. Depending on the cause, effective treatment may be possible.
It is important to remember that dry orgasms are nothing to be embarrassed or shy about. Talking to your partner or a health professional about your concerns can often help to reassure you. Your doctor will also be able to provide more advice about your concerns.
